Welcome to Stone Soup

The Stone Soup Restaurant, now for sale, is located in the beautiful village of Strafford, Vermont. The 5000-sq. ft. building that houses both the restaurant and spacious living quarters was built around 1815, and it has been faithfully restored. The restaurant, known for having no sign, has an established year-round business of 24 years and continues to attract discriminating diners.

Stone Soup's setting is a great asset. The village of Strafford is a national historic district, and its town green is surrounded by early 19th century structures, one of which is the Stone Soup Restaurant. At the crest of the Strafford green is the stately Town House, built in 1799. Below, a colorful balloon from the nearby Post Mills airport makes an unscheduled landing on the Town House lawn.

Strafford attracts guests year-round. Several ski areas including Killington, Pico, and Ascutney are with an hour's drive. Suicide Six and the Dartmouth Skiway are even closer.

Although the Stone Soup building is presently zoned commercial -- it houses both the restaurant and spacious living quarters -- it could easily be converted to solely business or residental purposes. For more information send an inquiry to co-owner Gil Robertson.
