How You Can Share the Experience of a Lifetime
You're over 55. You've spent a lifetime learning skills and developing talents. You're a rich resource, and you're free to choose what you want to do, and when you want to do it.
You community needs your skills and talents. The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of the Upper Valley and White Mountains places volunteers in over 90 agencies from the White Mountains to Lebanon, from Canaan to Glencliff in New Hampshire; and from Norwich to Hartford villages, to Woodstock, Vermont.
RSVP of the Upper Valley and White Mountains highlights signature programs such as Thresholds and Decisions, The Recycle Game, Home Patrol, and the GoGetters.
Volunteer opportunities are also found in libraries, schools, health care agencies, law enforcement, senior services, crisis management, substance abuse prevention and many other areas.
RSVP coordinators are committed to finding the right volunteer opportunity to match you skills, interests, and schedule.
Service opportunities can be ongoing or on-call. Whether you volunteer once a week, or once a month, you're helping to get things done in your community.
Training is provided to volunteers by the non-profit organization they choose to serve. Often, training is "on the job," while some case it may involve intensive workshop.
The coordinator can inform you of the needs at various non-profit organizations and the screening and application process of each organization. The coordinator can also introduce you to an organization's staff.
Eligibility to be an RSVP volunteer may not be restricted on the basis of education, income, experience, citizenship, race, creed, belief, color, national origin, sex, handicap or political affiliation.
