In our region, volunteer drivers serving through non-profit agencies help to meet an important need. Many older people or people with disabilities need help accessing medical treatment and other essential services for various reasons. They may have had to give up driving, and have no family in the area. Perhaps they live outside of the service area for public transportation, or perhaps they are too frail or ill to access a public bus.

In an effort to recognize and support the volunteers, who share their time and often the use of their personal vehicles, we have organized these free monthly sessions. We hope to provide information that will put drivers more at ease. And, we hope drivers will share ideas. Come to one, or come to them all! Refreshments provided.

Agencies who depend on volunteer drivers to meet community needs, as well as volunteers or prospective volunteers, are invited to contact us about these sessions.

These sessions are funded, in part, by a "Successful Aging" grant from the Council on Aging of Southeastern Vermont, Inc.
