Montshire Short Track Speedskating Competition Sponsored by the Northeast Speedskating Association, member of US Speedskating. Hosted by the Montshire Speedskating Club. Schedule Sunday, November 30, 2003, 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Tentative schedule: Check-in: 8:30— 10:00 a.m. Class B warmup;10:30-10:45 Class A warmup: 10:45 –11:00 Races 11:15 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. Format The races are for fun and the first 100 participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt. In addition to a kick-off for the athletes, we also are seeking to train parents in all aspects of running a meet (judging, timing, starting, clerking, counting laps, and running the heat box). Please volunteer to help in one of these jobs. Indicate your interest on the back of the skater registration form. Entry fee is non-refundable. Montshire Speedskating Club and/or NSA reserves the right to refuse any application, and the right to combine or cancel events. Classes may be combined if there are fewer than 4 entries in their class. Participants must wear required equipment. "A safety-type helmet, gloves or mittens, padded knee protection, cut-resistant shin guard, long-sleeved jersey and neck protector of the bib type covering the neck and all soft parts of the upper chest area." Registration Complete the entry form and waiver and return with check for $25 made payable to Montshire Speedskating Club by November 20. $35 late fee thereafter. Also, bring $10 returnable helmet cover deposit. When you check-in, you will be asked for $10 (cask or check to MSC) and given a numbered helmet cover. After the races, return your helmet cover in exchange for your deposit (of cash or check).
