ValleyNet helps to sponsor the Community Technology Center at the Grafton County Senior Citizens Council building in Lebanon, adjacent to the CCBA. Here you can find computers (PCs and Macs) all with high-speed Internet connections, available for your use. Most mornings and some afternoons there are also helpful volunteers ready to assist you in using the web, setting up an email account, and generally learning about the web and computers. Bugbee Senior Center Tech SeriesSummer 2009Our summer program series will take place at the Bugbee Senior Center this year. Four programs will offer a beginners' look at surfing the web, using email, searching the web with Google, and getting started with digital photography. All programs are free and take place Tuesday afternoons from 3 to 4pm.
Visiting Websites and Finding information on the WebTuesday, July 14 from 3pm to 4pm Bugbee Senior Center, White River Junction VT This free program will be a beginner's introduction to how to visit websites, click on links, and search for information using Google, and will include tips on Internet safety. This will be a good introduction to the web for those who have never used the Internet or who are new to using the web. This one-hour program is presented by ValleyNet and is free and open to the public.
What's Email All About?Tuesday, July 28 from 3pm to 4pm Bugbee Senior Center, White River Junction VT Lots of people today use email, but the many options available when using email can sometimes be confusing. We'll discuss how to send and receive email, how to send mail to more than one person at a time, how to enclose photos and documents with your email, and how to stay safe online using email. This one-hour program is presented by ValleyNet, and is free and open to the public.
Using Google on the WebTuesday, August 4 from 3pm to 4pm Bugbee Senior Center, White River Junction VT Find out how Internet search engines like Google work and how to use them to find anything and everything on the web at this free program. The presentation will include information on narrowing searches, using appropriate search terms, image and map searches, and more. This one-hour program is presented by ValleyNet and is free and open to the public.
Getting Started with Digital PhotographyTuesday, August 25 from 3pm to 4pm Bugbee Senior Center, White River Junction VT Thinking about getting a digital camera, or have one and are just getting started? This program will offer information on how digital photography is different from film photography, options when choosing a camera, getting the photos from your camera to your computer, editing and improving digital photos, and options for organizing your photos on your computer. This one-hour program is presented by ValleyNet and is free and open to the public.
