This was a good one. Lots of people recognized the bridge and knew about the Hartford Railroad Disaster, which occurred when the Montreal night express train derailed on the bridge that used to be in this locatioon, about four miles out of WRJ. Thirty-one people died and many others were injured making the wreck one of the worst in railroad history at that time.
The cars were heated with heaters that set the bridge and the train on fire. There's a vintage photograph of the crash site available online.
There is talk that one of the nearby houses is haunted to this day because of this horrible accident.

Most of the 44 people who responded got the location correct, and thanks for all of the information on the crash itself. The first to guess correctly were Laura Ward, Caleb Cook, Terry Walz, Jeremy Blood, and Carol Sears.
