Where in the Valley - Chelsea Street Bridge, South Royalton

Welcome to ValleyNet : Where in the Valley...? : Where in the Valley - Chelsea Street Bridge, South Royalton

Here is the answer for Where in the Valley...? for June 18 to July 24, 2003

Chelsea Street Bridge, South Royalton

The architectural firm of Truex, Collins and Partners designed the Chelsea Street Bridge in South Royalton. It opened on August of 2002.

The piers and abutments of the new bridge are made of Vermont granite and the sidewalk has a comfortable viewing area so pedestrians can look out over the White River.

There's a nice piece written by Donald Maurice Kreis about the bridge on this Valley News website page.

He was also among the first to correctly identify the photo, along with C. D. Shaw, John Creagh, Patrick Dakin, Bob Lucier, C. Ricker, and Maria Weber Lamson, who said that "...the sunset looking up the White River valley last night from the central overlook point of the bridge was awesome".
