Where in the Valley?

Steve Fulton was first with a correct identification - "It looks like the south end of Occom Pond in Hanover. The view is from the west (on Occum ridge road...) looking east."

The photograph was also correctly identified by Chet Clem, Tony Dall, Nancy Emslie, Len Cadwallader, Judy Wilson, Elaine J. Cook, Charles E Garipay, Reddevils, Betty Heston, Charles Monfette, Joan Astley, Peter Stettenheim, Frank Gado, James Tyson, Sally Page, and Doug Morse.

Elaine Cooke pointed out that you can see Baker Tower in the background.

The Dartmouth Outing Club House, built in 1928, stands at the north end of Occom Pond and has one room that opens onto the pond for ice skating. The pond itself was created in 1900 by a Mr. C.P. Chase. [this information comes from a really interesting website by Scott Meacham at]
