About UVME | |
The Upper Valley Material Exchange (UVME) makes it possible for Upper Valley residents, businesses, and organizations to give away or swap unwanted items.
By giving away what we normally throw away, we can all make our unwanted items useful again, and by accepting these items from other people we can save on the cost of buying new.
How Does UVME Work?UVME is an informational resource to aid in the disposition of materials -- like an electronic classified ad -- that connects people who have surplus materials with those who can use them. No money is exchanged. Items listed must be free of charge. No "best offer", "make an offer", or "what do you have to swap" listings are allowed. UVME does not have staff to arrange terms or transfer, nor can UVME take possession of any material. It is completely up to the parties involved to make all arrangements. If you are donating materials to a non-profit organization, you can fill out the Material Transaction Form to keep a record of that transaction.
How to Post a Free Listing for an Item that is Available or WantedJust list the item (available or wanted) on the UVME home page and submit the listing with your name, email address, location, and details of the item (your telephone number is optional if you want people viewing the listing to contact you by telephone). The password you choose will be required from you if you want to change or delete an entry later. To post more than one listing, just complete another record. To edit or delete a listing, send an email to webmaster@valley.net with the details of your listing and your password, and the changes you would like to make.
How to Contact Someone who has Listed an ItemContact the person listing the item by telephone (if their number is listed) or by email. They will contact UVME once the transaction has been completed to delete the listing.
It is up to the parties involved to make all arrangements. UVME cannot help in arranging for transfer or transportation of materials.
