Using your ValleyNet connection to access libraries

Welcome to ValleyNet : Web Links : Using your ValleyNet connection to access libraries

Many libraries now have their catalogues accessible on the World-Wide Web; this means that you can actually search for books and articles using nothing more than your internet connection and a standard web browser (like Navigator from Netscape or Internet Explorer from Microsoft). Some popular libarary sites are

Library of Congress
New York Public Library
Medline from the National Library of Medicine
Baker Library at Dartmouth College
Howe Library

ValleyNet offers free online listings for local libraries in the Libraries category on our Organizations page. You may be able to find contact information and website links for your library there; if you library is not there please let us know by writing to community.listings@valley.net and we'll add it.

Access to library catalogs does not necessarily mean you have access to their collections. You must contact the specific library for their policies. Usually there is a email address on their web page you can use to contact them.
