''Backdoor.Graybird.E'' Virus

There is another new trojan virus known as the Backdoor.Graybird.E. that is spreading throughout the Internet. It affects all Windows versions. This virus has been discovered attempting to spread by pretending to be a security update for Microsoft software vulnerable to the Blaster worm (also known as LovSan and MSBlast). The Trojan arrives via e-mail purporting to be from Microsoft and, if a user installs the malicious attachment, could allow an attacker to gain complete access to an infected machine.

See the Symantec Backdoor.Graybird.E virus page for more details. While the ValleyNet Message Center may quarantine any infected emails coming into your ValleyNet email account, we still recommend that all our subscribers install antivirus software and keep it up to date antivirus software.
