''Bugbear'' virus

Fall 2002 There is a new damaging virus circulating called the Bugbear virus. This virus can infect machines running the Windows operating software, and can damage files, disrupt network connections, and send itself out to addresses in your address book. Symantec has posted a webpage about the bugbear virus and has also posted a free Bugbear virus removal tool on its website.
We recommend that everyone keep a good antivirus program on their machine, and keep it updated. While our Message Center service keeps out emails with viruses that originate outside of the ValleyNet system, it is still possible for you to get viruses on your computer from other sources.
