''SirCam'' virus
August 2001 We've seen several examples of a nasty virus called ''SirCam'' being sent around by people using Outlook and Outlook Express for their email program. If you open the virus enclosure, it will re-send itself out to correspondents in your address book and randomly send them files from your computer.
As always, don't open file enclosures unless you really know what it is and really expect it; otherwise, you run the risk of passing on the virus to other people that you know.
For more on this virus, visit http://dispatch.mcafee.com/dispatches/sir_cam/ or http://www.ca.com/virusinfo/virusalert.htm#w32.sircam. We always advise our customers to install a good anti-virus program, and to keep it up to date.
