Swap Meet UpdateOur 2005 Swap Meet was a great success! With the Greater Upper Valley Solid Waste District, we collected and recycled 28,543 pounds (14.3 tons) of computers, monitors, printers and other peripherals! (Last year we recycled 9.5 tons, and were concerned that there wasn't going to be anything to collect this year...). We'll be writing a check to ElectroniCycle for close to $6,000, which covers the cost of the recycling and trucking.

We sold dozens of computer systems and peripherals at our sale, and the proceeds help with the cost of the recycling, with a little left over for a contribution to the UVCIA Scholarship fund.

Thanks to everyone who consigned and donated systems to sell, and thanks to everyone who cheerfully paid the recycling fees. It's a lot of work, but we not only responsibly recycled, but we also got many useful systems into the hands of Upper valley residents and organizations who could use them, at very reasonable prices.
