There is an option in Outlook Express which will disconnect you after sending and/or receiving mail. If you are getting disconnected after checking or sending your email, it may be that this option has been turned on.

Here's how to turn it off:

1. Click on the Tools pulldown menu in Outlook Express
2. Click on Option
3. Then click on the Connection tab
4. The option "Hang up after sending and receiving" is on this screen. Make sure that is UNCHECKED.
