Removing your Connection Script in Windows

Certain kinds of connection need a connection script to be configured, and other connections do not. If you are dialing a 56k digital line your connection will authenticate faster and will be more stable if you remove the connection script from your dial-up configuration. Here's how to do it:

Print this page out before you start so that you will have written instructions to follow.

Double click on My Computer
Double click on Dial-up Networking
Right mouse click on the connection icon
Choose Properties from the menu and click on Properties with the left mouse button.
Click on the Server Type Tab
If "Log on to Network" is checked, remove the check mark.
Click on the Scripting Tab at the top of the window.
Remove any script that is listed in the Script File Name box.
Click OK

You now have set your Windows computer to dial into a 56k digital number.
