Can I set my Valley Net connection to automatically disconnect after several minutes of non-use?

Windows 95 and Windows 98
Go to My Computer|Control Panel|Internet Options|Connections and under Dial-up settings, highlight the connection with (Default) beside it. Click on Settings on the right and then on Advanced beside the dial up settings on the screen with your user name and password. That should bring up an Advanced Dial Up box. Check the box beside Disconnect if idle for more than xx minutes and set the time you want to disconnect after.

Macintosh OS 8 through 9
Open the PPP control panel or the Remote Access control panel. Click on the Options button, select the Connection tab, and checkmark and set the "disconnect if idle for..." to the time you prefer (usually around 10 minutes).

Reminder- if you have Blitzmail open on your desktop, your computer will never think that the Internet connection is idle, and it will not disconnect. If you leave your computer and want the connection to terminate if you get tied up doing something and don't come back, quit out of BlitzMail first.
