In Windows 95 and Windows 98...

1. Double-click on the My Computer icon.
2. Then double-click on the Dialup Networking folder.
3. Next do a single RIGHT-click on the connection icon and then click on Properties.
4. In that window, change the phone number in the appropriate field.
5. Now click OK. That closes the Properties window. Then just close the Dialup Networking window. You will now be able to dial into the new phone number with all of the correct settings.

Windows ME

1. Click on Start, Settings, Dialup Networking
2. Right click on the connection icon and then select Properties
3. Change phone number on this screen.
4. Now click OK. That closes the Properties window. Then just close the Dialup Networking window. You will now be able to dial into the new phone number with all of the correct settings.

Windows 2000 and Windows XP

1. Double-click on the dial-up shortcut on the desktop
2. Click on the Properties icon
3. On this screen, change the phone number. Make sure the area code, if needed, is correct.
4. To use the Area Code field make sure the Use Dialing Rules box is checked.
5. Now click OK. That closes the Properties window. Then just close the Dialup Networking window. You will now be able to dial into the new phone number with all of the correct settings.

Macintosh using ConfigPPP or PPPop (System 7.0.1 to System 7.5.X.)

1. Under the Apple menu, Select Control Panels.
2. Open the Config PPP control panel.
3. Click the Config button in the lower left.
4. Put the cursor in the Phone Num field and highlight the old phone number.
5. Type in the new phone number, and click Done.

Macintosh using Open Transport (System 7.6, 8, and 9)

1. Under the Apple menu, Select Control Panels.
2. Open the PPP or Remote Access control panel.
3. Put the cursor in the Number field and highlight the old phone number.
4. Type in the new phone number.
5. Close the Control Panel's window.
6. Save the changes.

Macintosh OS-X

1. Open the System preferences.
2. Click on the Network icon.
3. Click on the PPP tab.
4. Change the telephone number.
5. Click on Apply Now at the bottom
6. Quit System Preferences.
