Recycling Computers and Electronics

Welcome to ValleyNet : Recycling Computers and Electronics

It's important to keep electronics and computers out of the waste stream; not only do they add unecessary waste to landfills, but many of their parts can be re-used or recycled, which makes it possible to reduce the need for new raw materials.

ValleyNet and the Greater Upper Valley Solid Waste District will team up again this year to host an Electronics Recycling Collection in the parking lot of the Montshire Museum in Norwich on Saturday morning, September 29th. A modest fee covers the cost of recycling computers, televisions, and other electronics.

Ongoing

The Greater Upper Valley Solid Waste District holds regular computer recycling collections; find out about their recycling events and hazardous waste collections by visiting their website. Visit their Computer Recycling Information page for more details on recycling computers and electronics.

Wincycle in Windsor, VT offers computer recyling; they also offer used equipment for sale. Visit their website to find out how to donate or recycle machines there.

Wincycle's hours are Tuesday from 3pm - 7pm, Thursday from noon - 8pm, and Saturday from10am - 2pm, and they are located at The Firehouse on the first floor (one flight down from street level) at 147 Main Street, in Windsor, VT.

UVME, the Upper Valley Materials Exchange, is an online swap site hosted by ValleyNet where you can offer computers, peripherals, and almost anything else to other residents of the Upper Valley. These exchanges have to be free - there can be no charge for materials place on UVME.

ValleyNet can occasionally find a home for donations of recent computers and computer equipment; we have a pretty good idea of what non-profits can use, and can help find a home for good equipment you no longer need. Give us a call to ask if what you have is something that we can put to good use; call us at 802 359-4162.
