Recycling Computers and Electronics

Welcome to ValleyNet : Recycling Computers and Electronics

It's important to keep electronics and computers out of the waste stream; not only do they add unecessary waste to landfills, but many of their parts can be re-used or recycled, which makes it possible to reduce the need for new raw materials.

Ongoing Collections

The Greater Upper Valley Solid Waste District holds regular computer recycling collections; find out about their recycling events and hazardous waste collections by visiting their website. Visit their Computer Recycling Information page for more details on recycling computers and electronics.

Wincycle in Windsor, VT offers computer recycling at a flat fee of 30 cents per pound regardless of condition. They also offer used equipment for sale. Visit their website to find out more.

Wincycle's hours are Wednesday through Friday 12 PM - 7 PM, and Saturday 10 AM - 4 PM (closed Sunday-Tuesday). They are located at 28 River Street, Suite 1 (the Goodyear building), in Windsor, VT.

Other Ideas for Recycling

You can also ask around at your local school or library to see if they would be interested in computers or monitors that still work but that you no longer need.

If you are signed up for a community email discussion list in your town, post a listing there about your unwanted electronics - you may find someone who needs exactly what you have!
