Frequent Questions About Changes to ValleyNet          Press Release

Dear ValleyNet Community Members,

Thank you, thank you for your support of ValleyNet over the last eleven years. Together we have brought the Upper Valley into the Internet Age. Together we've learned how to send email and browse the Internet. Nowadays many of us use the Internet everyday in ways we couldn't have imagined only ten years ago. The rapid pace of change has been truly amazing.

We want you to be the first to know that more changes are at hand. In the press release below you will read about the sale of most of ValleyNet's Internet connection assets to SoVerNet, Inc., a locally owned telecommunications provider in Vermont. You will still have your @valley.net email address and the use of Blitz mail. Technical support hours will be expanded under SoVerNet. Please read the press release for more details.

We at ValleyNet are working along with SoVerNet to make this transfer as easy for ValleyNet subscribers as possible. If you need to make any changes to your computer configuration for the number you dial for access, we will let you know soon via email and telephone.

ValleyNet will remain as a nonprofit organization dedicated to community building through Internet technology. ValleyNet will continue to sponsor many of your favorite ValleyNet activities including our community web page, www.valley.net, classes and workshops, computer recycling events, services to nonprofit organizations, help for seniors, and support for the wonderful free Community Technology Center in Lebanon co-sponsored by the Grafton County Senior Citizens Center.

Yes, there will be changes. ValleyNet offices will be moving to new quarters at 58 N. Main in White River Junction in February, 2006. An expanded Board of Directors for ValleyNet has been elected with Stan Williams as the chair. Bob Raiselis will take on a new role as interim director.

Once again, thank you for your support and loyalty through the years. ValleyNet will continue to serve the Upper Valley community.
