Woodstock Town Hall





Woodstock is one of the very few Vermont municipalities that is organized as a town, and within the boundaries of the town, there exists an incorporated village. The incorporated village of Woodstock enjoys certain privileges as a governmental entity. The fact that the town is somewhat separate from the village is confusing to many people. The Town of Woodstock is governed by a three member Board of Selectmen, and the Village of Woodstock is governed by five member Board of Trustees.


The Town and Village of Woodstock are served by central administrative offices located in the Town Hall. Here you will find the Town Clerk, Municipal manager, Zoning office, Board of Listers, Treasurer and Tax Collector. In addition to housing these offices, there are the conference rooms where official meetings of the elected and appointed boards take place. See the meeting schedule printed below.


The Town Manager's office is open from 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. and is closed for lunch between 12:00 noon and 1:00 P.M.


The Town and Village of Woodstock each have a set of zoning by laws that regulate all land development, building construction, and property uses. Permits are required before any activity may take place. Please contact the zoning office. The zoning office is open from 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. and is closed for lunch between 12:00 noon and 1:00 P.M.


The Board of Listers is an elected Board, responsible for establishing the value of all property in town for tax purposes. The office is open from 8:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. Monday through Thursday.


Meeting Schedule

Board of Selectmen
 Meet on the 1st, and 3rd Tuesday of each month at Town Hall at 7:30 P.M.


Board of Sewer Commissioners
Meet during the regularly scheduled meetings of the Board of Selectmen.

Town Zoning Board of Adjustment
Meetings held on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:30 P.M. at Town Hall.


Planning Commission
Meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month at 7:30 P.M. at Town Hall.

Design Review Board (South Woodstock)
Meetings held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at the South Woodstock Fire Station at 7:30 P.M. (upon application only).

Recreation Board of Directors
Meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:00 P.M. at the Woodstock Recreation Center.

Woodstock School Board
The Board of Directors for the Woodstock Elementary School meet the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 P.M. at the Woodstock Elementary School. (Call 457-2522 to confirm.)
The Woodstock Union High School Board meets the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30 P.M. at the Woodstock Union High School, in the Rhoda Teagle Library.

Library Board of Trustees
The Library Board of Trustees meets monthly at the Norman Williams Library. For specific date and time call 457-2295.

Village Zoning Board of Adjustment
Meetings are held on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 7:30 P.M. at the Town Hall.

Village Board of Trustees
Meet the 4th Monday of each month at 7:30 P.M. at the Town Hall.

Village Design Review Board
Meet 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at Town Hall at 4:00 P.M.

Conservation commission
Meetings held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at town hall (for time of meeting call 457-3456).
