AP
United States History
Now might be a good time to ask yourself why you signed on for this course. It covers 500 years of American history. It involves reading hundreds of pages of textbook and primary source documents. There are tests every week, sometimes covering two chapters. There are lots of essays. The instructor is ill-prepared, takes forever to grade assignments, is cruel, and has impossible standards. The other students are all competitive, ruthless, backbiting and whiny. At the end of it all, is a mind-numbing College Board test and a 25-page term paper. And for what? The remote possibility of a "3" score and the hope that some admissions geek will be impressed? You really want to be here? Are you nuts, or something? |
