Community Technology Center
The Community Technology Center is located in
Lebanon and is sponsored by ValleyNet along with the Grafton County Senior Citizens
Council to make computers, high-speed access, and computer help available to everyone.
The technology center is in the Grafton County Senior Citizens Council building in
downtown Lebanon, on the corner opposite the Senior Center at 10 Campbell
Street just off the green. The center is open for walk-ins 9am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday, free parking is available, it's on the bus route, and it is open to everyone.
The computer lab can be used for free by anyone who wants to use a computer with a
high-speed Internet connection for web surfing, emailing, online learning,
and more.
The technology center is staffed by helpful volunteers who are there to help those who are new computers and the Internet get started, and to help those who are more advanced but need some help with what they want to do.
The current staffing schedule at the Technology Center is as follows:
Mondays 9:30am - noon
Thursdays 9am - noon and 2 - 4:30pm
Fridays 10am - noon
At other times there will be no staff member there, but you are free to use the facility.
We're seeking additional adult and student volunteers who will help
community members using the computer lab. Please see the ValleyNet listing at the ValleyNet Volunteer website for more information about these volunteer opportunities.
Here's a link to a Google map to the CTC at 10 Campbell Street in Lebanon.

Community Discussion Lists Our email discussion lists are discussion forums for topics specific to towns, open to anyone who wants to participate but most interesting for residents of those communities. Share a recipe, ask about sources for local maple syrup, see who is interested in helping you do some yard work, discuss what's happening at the town hall. The intent is to keep the discussion on and about your town.
To subscribe to any of our discussion lists, find out more by visiting our Community Discussion Lists page. We currently sponsor discussion lists for Thetford, Norwich, Vershire, Fairlee, Bradford, Hartford, and Hanover.
The Salikenni Scholarship Fund is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing educational opportunity for students in and from the village of Salikenni in the North Bank region of The Gambia in West Africa. They provide scholarships to selected boys and girls in the village, starting when they are in grade 7. That is the point at which fees charged by Gambian government schools rise to a level that many families cannot afford, causing many children to drop out of school.
ValleyNet helped the Salikenni Scholarship Fund create their new website, which is designed to make their organization more widely known, and which is set up so that they can easily make changes to their web pages themselves. ValleyNet can help your organization or small business with your website and web presence; give us a call at 802 359-4162 or write to webmaster@valley.net for more information. We can also help you modify or update your existing website. We specialize in helping community organizations get started on the web.
ECFiber ValleyNet is working with The East Central Vermont Community Fiber Network to bring high-speed fiber-optic networking to 23 towns in Vermont. We're working to create a state-of-the-art high-speed network to carry cable television, telephone, and broadband Internet service to every home, business, and municipal office and school in each of these communities.
Find out more at www.ecfiber.net, and while you are there consider pre-registering for service to show your support for the project. Visit www.ecfiber.net/pre-register to see how easy that is.

We've re-vamped the UVME website to make it easier to browse listings and to add listings for things you are offering and things you are looking for.
Have something you want to give away because it's too good to throw away? need something that someone else might have? Post a note on UVME. Listings are free, and the items are free, too!
Public Internet Terminals We have a page with information on public Internet terminals in the Upper Valley. Libraries, schools, and even some offices allow public access on their Internet computers - visit our Upper Valley Internet Access Terminals page to find out where they are.
